Kirk Herbstreit always releases his list of the most impressive players, coaches, and teams from each week of the college football season.

After a wild Week 6 that included some instant classics, Herbstreit had plenty to choose from. The analyst picked 7 coaches for his list, including 3 from the SEC.

To no surprise, the top spot on Herbstreit’s list went to Vanderbilt coach Clark Lea after his team knocked off No. 1 Alabama in Nashville. Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia also received the top spot on Herbstreit’s list of top players.

The Commodores won 40-35, pulling off one of the biggest upsets in recent college football history. It was the 1st win over Alabama for Vanderbilt in over 40 years.

Arkansas defensive coordinator Travis Williams received the No. 2 spot on Herbstreit’s list. Williams’ squad held the Vols and Nico Iamaleava to just 14 points and 158 passing yards. The win was another upset over a top-5 team in Week 6.

Finally, Florida DC Austin Armstrong received the No. 7 spot. Armstrong’s Gator defense held UCF to under 300 yards of total offense and just 13 points. UCF QB KJ Jefferson completed just 12-of-22 pass attempts for 165 yards with no TDs.

Minnesota’s PJ Fleck, Washington’s Jedd Fisch, Ohio State DC Jim Knowles, and Army’s Jeff Monken were the other coaches to receive a spot on Herbstreit’s list.
