Kirk Herbstreit always reveals a list of players who impressed him the most after each week of college football action.

The analyst will also rank the most impressive coaching and team performances from each weekend.

After a wild Week 6, Herbstreit had plenty of performances to choose from. Herbstreit shared 8 selections for his list, including 2 quarterbacks and a defensive position group from the SEC.

As should probably be expected, Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia took the top spot.

Pavia led the Commodores to an upset win over No. 1 Alabama and threw for 252 yards and 2 TDs with 56 rushing yards. Most importantly, the QB didn’t turn the ball over, and consistently put his team in a good position.

The No. 2 spot went to Texas A&M QB Conner Weigman for his performance against Missouri. The QB came back from injury to lead the Aggies to a huge 41-10 win over the previously-ranked No. 9 Tigers.

Weigman completed 18-of-22 passes for 276 yards. Like Pavia, Weigman was efficient and protected the ball. The performance was even more impressive considering Weigman had missed the previous 3 games with injury.

The other SEC mention on the list was the Ole Miss defensive line at No. 7. The Ole Miss defense racked up 6 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, and held the Gamecocks to just 7 points. DL JJ Pegues also factored in on offense, scoring 2 TDs as a fullback.

The other mentions on the list were Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty, Miami’s Xavier Restrepo, Nebraska’s James Williams, Minnesota’s Koi Perich, and Weber State’s Richie Munoz.
