Kirk Herbstreit reveals new top 6 rankings after Week 4 action
Kirk Herbstreit has seen some interesting games in recent weeks, including Penn State’s narrow win over Auburn 2 weeks ago and Oklahoma’s escape vs. West Virginia on Saturday night.
He also watches numerous other games around the country, and on Sunday morning, he released his new top 6 rankings.
As you can see below, he has Alabama and Georgia in the top 2 spots, followed by Oregon and Penn State. Then, just outside his current Playoff picture, he has Cincinnati at No. 5 and Florida at No. 6:
What a weekend of CFB games!!
After the 1st month of the season this could be the toughest “top 4 + next 2” I’ve had to come up with. As we approach October next weekend.

It’s tough to argue with any of the teams in Herbstreit’s top 6, though some have Georgia ahead of Alabama.
We’ll see how a busy Week 5 impacts the rankings. If Ole Miss stuns Alabama, expect a big shakeup this time next Sunday.
