Kirk Herbstreit shares his top 6 teams in the country after SEC's Week 8 action
By now, we know the top-flight teams in the college football world. You have your Alabamas and Clemsons and Notre Dames and Ohio States.
Then, there’s a group just below that of teams that also look poised to sneak into the College Football Playoff field should a top team slip up.
On Sunday morning, after the SEC’s Week 8 action, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit took to Twitter to rank his top teams. As you can see below, he has Alabama as the No. 1 team in the nation. Then, he has Florida at No. 5, just outside the Playoff field:

BYU has been incredible, but many Texas A&M fans will wonder why the Aggies aren’t mentioned since they have a head-to-head win over Florida. Cincinnati also has a legitimate claim to being mentioned.
For now, though, teams still have plenty of games left, so we can expect things to sort themselves out.
