Kirk Herbstreit is out with his top 4, and there is a change at the top spot.
After previously ranking Georgia No. 1, Herbstreit has moved the Bulldogs to No. 2. Michigan is Herbstreit’s new No. 1.
UGA improved to 7-0 with a 37-20 win over Vanderbilt for its 24th consecutive victory. The Commodores covered a 32.5-point spread and kept things closer than expected for much of the game. UGA scored 17 points in the 2nd quarter to make it 24-7 at the half. In the 4th quarter, Vandy was able to cut the deficit to 10 at the 6:20 mark, making it 30-20.
Michigan turned in another lopsided victory, defeating Indiana 52-7. The Hoosiers led 7-0 at the end of the 1st quarter, but the Wolverines scored the next 52 points over the final 3 quarters.
Washington and Oregon were in the national spotlight. The Huskies emerged victorious as the Ducks missed a last-second field goal. Herbstreit, however, is keeping Washington at No. 3 in his top 4.
Herbstreit also kept Florida State at No. 4. The Seminoles improved to 6-0 with a 41-3 win over Syracuse.
Oregon had been Herbstreit’s next team out. After the Ducks’ loss, Oklahoma has moved in to that spot while on a bye. Herbstreit kept Ohio State at No. 6.
