The rumors continue to swirl about Lane Kiffin potentially leaving Florida Atlantic and returning to the SEC.

According to Khobi Price of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Kiffin will miss his scheduled appearance on the FAU coaches radio show on Thursday. He reportedly recorded a segment earlier in the week that will play during the show, which is held at Biergarten Boca Raton.

Kiffin has been tied to the Arkansas coaching search, as it’s been reported that he met with Razorbacks athletic director Hunter Yuracek in Florida this past Sunday.

Meanwhile, Kiffin isn’t discussing any coaching rumors with his Florida Atlantic team.

“I don’t comment on job searches, never have, and what’s going on with them,” Kiffin said, per Price. “So, not going to start now.”

Another radio-show occurrence took place on Thursday that added to the Kiffin rumors.

During an appearance on Fox Sports 640 AM in South Florida, Kiffin was asked if he would be the coach at Florida Atlantic next season. There was then a long silence before the show went to break.

However, John R. Nabors of ESPN Arkansas confirmed that it was a techinical error, stating that the show later played Kiffin’s response to the question:

Kiffin has been the head coach at Florida Atlantic since 2017. His only previous head-coaching stint in the SEC was his one season at Tennessee in 2009. However, he served as Alabama’s offensive coordinator from 2014-16.
