We’ve reached the Top 20 of our Top 100 SEC players list and will unveil a new player daily leading up to opening night on Aug. 28.

16. Laremy Tunsil, Soph., OL, Ole Miss

Let’s just call him the Lake City Monster. Patrolling the waters at Ole Miss is this Florida native, already a projected top pick in the 2016 NFL Draft with two full seasons left to play. Scouts love the size (6-foot-5, 310 pounds), strength and athleticism he showcased last season as a 19-year-old true freshman in the SEC. Tunsil allowed one sack all season at left tackle and quickly emerged as one of the Rebels’ most reliable player up front.

Laquon Treadwell and Robert Nkemdiche received much of the buzz as the top picks in the star-studded 2013 signing class, but Tunsil may be the best player in the group by the time he reaches the professional ranks. Veteran quarterback Bo Wallace doesn’t have to worry about his blind side this season with Tunsil standing in the way of oncoming rushers. With all elite-level linemen, staying healthy is key and Ole Miss has its offensive cornerstone in Tunsil if he can avoid injury.

2013 statistics: Made nine starts at left tackle as a true freshman and only gave up one sack earning First-Team Freshman All-America honors
2014 projection: Continues his development as one of the SEC’s best offensive linemen, starts every game for the Rebels
