The SEC continues to prove what a deep basketball league it has this year, as nearly every game on the league schedule is capable of being a landmine — regardless of where a team currently sits in the league standings entering the contest.

While Auburn continues to maintain its hold on the top spot in the SEC for another week, Tennessee and Florida appear to have been pulled back to the pack over the last week while Alabama has risen; meanwhile, Arkansas and Mississippi State continue to fight for the right to be included in any NCAA Tournament talk.

With the weekend action now over, both Jerry Palm of CBS Sports and Joe Lunardi of ESPN have updated their latest bracketology brackets, with nine SEC teams being mentioned by each.

Here’s how CBS has the SEC looking with the NCAA Tournament bids less than a month away from being official:

  • Auburn #2 seed (Midwest)
  • Tennessee #4 seed (South)
  • Kentucky #7 seed (South)
  • Missouri #7 seed (East)
  • Texas A&M #7 seed (West)
  • Alabama #8 seed (Midwest)
  • Florida #9 seed (East)
  • Arkansas #11 seed (East)
  • Mississippi State (First Four Out)

Here’s how ESPN currently views the league’s standings for the tournament:

  • Auburn #2 seed (Midwest)
  • Florida #4 seed (East)
  • Tennessee #4 seed (South)
  • Alabama #7 seed (East)
  • Texas A&M #7 seed (West)
  • Kentucky #8 seed (Midwest)
  • Missouri #9 seed (South)
  • Arkansas #10 seed (South; but “On the Bubble”)
  • Mississippi State (Next Four Out)
