Leon O’Neal and Damone Clark, former stars at Texas A&M and LSU, made quite the splash at the Senior Bowl practices this week in Mobile, Alabama as they get set for the NFL Draft.
They each received top awards at their positions, according to player votes from offensive players they faced in practice, and it was announced at an awards ceremony on Friday.
O’Neal, a 6-foot-1, 210 pounder, was fourth on the team at Texas A&M last season with 58 stops (38 of them solo) to go with 3 tackles for loss, 5 passes broken up, a sack, a fumble return, and a 85-yard interception return for a touchdown in the season opener against Kent State.
Clark, believed to be one of the top inside linebackers in the 2022 NFL Draft class, led LSU with 137 tackles this season as the next closest teammate in tackles with Micah Baskerville with 83. Clark also made 15.5 tackles for a loss, an interception and 3 pass breakups.
