LOOK: Graphic shows the most popular Super Bowl snacks in every SEC state
The Super Bowl between the Rams and Patriots happens Sunday night, and the majority of fans will watch at least some of the game from a party.
Football’s biggest game always revolves around beer and food, and 2019’s will be no different.
Website TheKitchn.com researched Google Trends to see what every state searched for when it comes to food for the Super Bowl, and some of these are just, well, surprising.
Of all the states, Buffalo chicken dip appears to be the most popular, and it indeed is the most popular in the state of Georgia, where the Super Bowl is being hosted. The rest of the SEC states are rather interesting. All of them are quite acceptable, but Mississippi, what are you doing? Granola bars? Can you imagine a Super Bowl party with granola bars?
Paul Finebaum shared TheKitchn.com’s graphic Friday, and it didn’t go over too well:
Oh no Mississippi, what is you doin? #SuperBowl

I would assume turkey chili is because the NWTF is headquartered in SC?
Never have considered using turkey meat in chili. I’m not sure where these people are getting their intel.
Too bad SDS won’t let you post a URL to the actual Google source. It has nothing to do with “Most popular”.
And I guess Buffalo Chicken Dip in Georgia b/c UGA plays like a charging buffalo for the 1st 58 minutes of the game versus Bama then plays chicken for the last 2.
You are so clever little cupcake!! Maybe change your name to Sprinkles
I think Frosty would be better.
I think Buffalo Chip would be better.
I doubt he’d get the historical reference.
This is how the press works: regurgitate what someone else has put out as a fact without checking the source. The actual Google trends was “Uniquely searched Super Bowl foods by state.” Some where along the line, someone changed it to “Most Popular”. Really? Tell me no one questioned Granola in Mississippi or Spinach Dip in Texas? Bring that crap to a Super Bowl party and you stand a good chance of getting your butt kicked or at least being asked to leave.
I thought the same thing. Mississippi one of the most obese states in the country, and granola bars is the most popular?? My thought on Texas would be like sliced brisket or something to that nature.
What is white chicken chili? Turkey chili….really?
It’s beef bbq, queso, salsa and chips all day long for A&M
Exactly!
I’m gonna guess that most of these are not true…
I agree… Never heard of white chicken chili…
There is no way this is true. I’ve never seen nor heard of anyone providing granola bars at a Super Bowl party. My guess: the search/searcher confused “Super Bowl Foods” with “Super Foods”.
This has got to be the stupidest $hit I’ve ever seen on the Internet. Almost as stupid as the Matt Luke hire and anything positive about Missouri.
I think they just make this stuff up. Never been to a super bowl party in KY that had taco salad. Go CATS!!!
I second that. I’ve never seen anyone even make tacos OR salad at a SB party. The closest thing would be chips and salsa.
