At college football’s highest level, the biggest games are often played in professional stadiums or venues packed with lore and tradition.

The location of this year’s Division II national championship, however, is a high school stadium.

On Thursday, the NCAA announced the game will be held at McKinney Independent School District Stadium and Community Event Center. The following image of the recently opened, 12-000 seat facility comes via Reddit’s college football Twitter account.

Granted, this isn’t just any high school football stadium. Located in McKinney, Texas — the state known for its rabid high school football fandom and accompanying big-money stadiums — this venue cost just shy of $70 million, according to a report from The Dallas News.

The championship game, normally set in Kansas City, Kansas, needed to be relocated this season due to field renovations. This year’s title game in Texas is slated for Dec. 15.
