LOOK: Kirk Herbstreit fed up with UCF's title claims, lets fan hear it on Twitter
The UCF Knights went undefeated during the 2017 season, beating Auburn in the Peach Bowl.
However, they didn’t make it to the College Football Playoff, where Alabama beat Georgia to win the actual national championship.
That hasn’t stopped UCF fans, players and administration from claiming a title, but now ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit is sick of it. In an exchange with a fan on Twitter, he implored the UCF supporter to simply be happy with what was an incredible season for the Knights:
Also National Championship Year*

Just enjoy a magical-incredible year. You’re damaging your own brand by jumping up and down “claiming” a National Championship. Just stop. Your “National Champions” in your own world. And that’s awesome. But the rest of us crowned Bama the champ January 8th. https://t.co/Lblv7dEp8p

Indeed, some UCF fans seem too invested in claiming a title that they’ve forgotten about coach Scott Frost leading the team to an incredible year.
This doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon, though, so Herbie is probably going to have to deal with UCF fans until the 2018 season starts.
