The Boise State Broncos defended their home turf against Fresno State on Friday night, scoring 14 fourth-quarter points to win 24-17.

However, they may have gotten some help from the officials, as Fresno State fans won’t be happy with a call made late in the fourth quarter.

With a close spot that needed measured, the officials brought out the chains. Though the ball appeared to be short of the line to gain, as you can see in the photo below, the refs ruled it was a first down for the Broncos:

The Boise State drive continued, and that prevented Fresno from having a chance to tie the game and send it to overtime.

What the refs saw is unclear, but perhaps the blue turf messed with their vision?
