Mark Stoops has Kentucky sitting at 8-3 on the season heading into its season finale at Louisville on Saturday.

The success that Stoops has had with a program that traditionally hasn’t had a lot of success on the gridiron has drawn plenty of attention, and his name continues to get mentioned in connection with more high-profile job openings.

On Wednesday, Bruce Feldman of The Athletic tweeted that he has heard Stoops could be in the mix at LSU.

“Kentucky’s Mark Stoops beat UF and LSU this year,” Feldman tweeted. “He’s won at a place that had only won more than 8 games four times in the previous 100-plus years. Hearing some buzz out of LSU that he’s a strong candidate there.”

Stoops, who has also been mentioned as a likely target at Miami if it makes a change, is 31-17 in the last 4 seasons in Lexington.

If the Wildcats can beat Louisville and then win a bowl game, it will b their 2nd 10-win season in the last 4 years.

Kentucky’s game with the Cardinals on Saturday is set for 7:30 p.m. EST and will be televised by ESPN2.
