Marcelles Williams whittled down his recruiting interests to include just 12 teams on Sunday. Four different SEC programs made his list.

Williams is rated as a 4-star CB from the 2024 class per the 247Sports Composite. Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, and Texas A&M are all in the hunt. Williams is also considering USC, Ohio State, Louisville, Oklahoma, UCLA, Colorado, Miami, and Washington.

Williams is the No. 7 CB and No. 9 player out of California from the 2024 class. He attends St. John Bosco in Bellflower, California. It may be a difficult task for the SEC teams to convince him to leave the west coast.

247Sports lists Williams at 6-foot, 176 pounds.

The Tigers have the highest ranked 2024 class in the SEC so far at No. 2 with eight 4-star commits and three 3-star commits. The Volunteers (No. 4) and Crimson Tide (No. 5) aren’t too far behind, however. Texas A&M is holding onto the seventh best class at the moment compared to the other SEC programs.

LSU, Tennessee, and Alabama all finished the 2022 season with a 6-2 conference record. The Aggies had a disappointing year and finished at 5-7. LSU eventually went on to face Georgia in the SEC title game.

It’ll be interesting to see if any of the SEC teams mentioned can lure Williams away from the Pac-12.
