Matt Leinart recognized 2 SEC standout performances among the 5 best of Week 12.
The Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from USC (2004) appreciated one of the top QB performances of the season. Leinart ranked South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler the top performer of Week 12.
Rattler was 30-of-37 passing, throwing for a career-high 438 yards and 6 touchdowns, a South Carolina school record, in a 63-38 win over then-No. 5 Tennessee. The Gamecocks entered the game as a 22-point underdog. Rattler and company will look to keep things rolling and knock off another big rival, Clemson, in the regular-season finale.
Leinart also highlighted one of the top performers in another SEC division rivalry clash with a surprisingly lopsided outcome. Raheim Sanders led Arkansas to a 42-27 win over then-No. 14 Ole Miss on Saturday. Sanders, who had 24 carries for 232 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns, was ranked No. 5 by the FOX analyst. The Razorbacks’ lead 42-6 through 3 quarters before the Rebels scored 21 points in the final period. Sanders and the Hogs finish the regular season with the Battle Line Rivalry game at Mizzou.
Leinart also included USC’s Caleb Williams, Oregon’s Bennett Williams and Ohio State’s Dallan Hayden.
