Matt Stinchcomb, Takeo Spikes offer early impressions of SEC Championship Game
Matt Stinchcomb and Takeo Spikes give their takes on the most important headlines for the SEC Championship Game.
Wednesday on SEC Now, the crew identified what they believe are the key things to watch for when Alabama and Georgia take the field for the SEC Championship game in a few short weeks.
“I’m gonna focus on the lines of scrimmage,” Stinchcomb said. “I think its the O-Line of Alabama, much maligned O-Line at the beginning of the season, versus a defensive front that is basically in tact for Georgia from a season ago when they won that national title and went undefeated throughout the season, minus a Jalen Carter. Now that is a sizeable minus to say the least, and at the same time that’s a front that has played really, really well.”
Takeo Spikes chimed in with what he thinks will be most important to the game.
“I wanna see Jalen Milroe, that matchup of him going up against the front 7 of the Georgia Bulldogs.”
“When you look at him on tape, he gets it,” Spikes said. “He understands coverages now when he sees you’re playing me 2-man without a spy, ok I’m gonna take off and run it. If it’s 3rd-and-5 versus me trying to fit it in a tight window, I’ll take off and run it. He understands, it is next level for him. I wanna see that matchup, how he does that going up against the front of the Georgia Bulldogs.”
Both Georgia and Alabama have already clinched their bids into the SEC championship game with 2 weeks to go in the regular season.
