Todd McShay recently called out Mel Kiper Jr. on the air and the two longtime ESPN draft analysts decided the best way to handle their difference in opinion was a $5,000 wager made live on the air.

The subject of their wager? Which quarterback will be selected first after Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa come off the board in the 2020 NFL Draft.

McShay is adamant that Utah State’s Jordan Love will be the third signal-caller selected while Kiper and his slicked-back hair are firmly on the Justin Herbert hype train heading into the 2020 NFL Draft.

“Kiper likes to evaluate quarterbacks like the Flintstones, he’s stuck in a day and age with like the big, strong-arm guy. We don’t need that anymore,” McShay noted on Friday. “I need a Jordan Love from Utah State. I need a guy who’s quick-twitch, who gets the ball out quickly. He can change his arm angles he can do all the little things. He’s the most underrated quarterback in this year’s class, he will be the third quarterback taken ahead of Justin Herbert.”

The two analysts then wagered $5,000 on the bet live on the air, with all proceeds going to the Jimmy V Foundation.
