Michael Irvin claims Bill O’Brien compared DeAndre Hopkins to Aaron Hernandez, Texans coach took issue with Hopkins’ ‘baby mamas’
Depending on who you believe, someone has got some explaining to do.
During a recent appearance on ESPN morning show “Get Up,” former Dallas Cowboys receiver and current NFL analyst Michael Irvin claims Bill O’Brien offended DeAndre Hopkins during their time together in Houston, which led to a deterioration of the relationship and eventually led to Hopkins being traded away this week by the Texans.
According to Irvin, Hopkins claims O’Brien compared the former Houston receiver to Aaron Hernandez and took issue with the number of children he had with different women and the “baby mamas” coming around.
Again, depending on who you believe here, either way, it’s a really bad look for someone.
If you missed it, Hopkins was traded away with a draft pick to Arizona for running back David Johnson and two other selections. The trade sent shockwaves throughout the NFL and even led one active NFL player to suggest O’Brien should be drug tested for trading away one of his best players.
Here is a clip of Irvin’s appearance on “Get Up” where he shares the claims from Hopkins:
Michael Irvin says DeAndre Hopkins told him that Bill O’Brien pulled him into a meeting and equated him to Aaron Hernandez. Also O’Brien didn’t like Hopkins having his "Baby Mamas" coming around.
