Jake Moody may never have to buy a beer in Ann Arbor again after Saturday. The Wolverines kicker kept Michigan in the College Football Playoff hunt with his game-winning 35-yard field goal against Illinois.
Michigan beat Illinois 19-17 to stay undefeated ahead of facing rival Ohio State next Saturday, and Moody delivered when it mattered most. It was also his fourth field goal of the game.

During the postgame press conference, however, Moody felt the need to point out that the Big Ten plays in weather that the SEC doesn’t.
“It’s not the SEC,” Moody said, via 247Sports Aleandro Zuniga. “You’ve got to deal with some tough wind conditions. It’s freezing out there.”
Michigan’s Playoff chances come down to facing Ohio State next week.
