Mistake made: SEC clarifies why Kellen Mond's huge run was not ruled a touchdown
A key play in the Arkansas-Texas A&M game came when Aggies QB Kellen Mond ran for 90 yards and appeared to score a touchdown.
However, the referee blew his whistle when he thought Mond stepped out of bounds at the 10-yard line, negating the rest of the play.
Because there was an inadvertent whistle, the play was not reviewable, which ended up costing the Aggies four points, as they only managed a field goal on the drive.
The SEC released a statement at halftime, explaining the missed call and why the play wasn’t reviewable:
