Well, this is interesting.

The Mountain West announced on Wednesday that it will stream six college football games live on Facebook this season through a partnership with Stadium.

Facebook is “a platform that has more than 100 million video views daily,” a news release from the conference said.

Here are the games that will be streamed:

“We are continually exploring ways by which we can innovate and expand the visibility of our Conference membership,” Commissioner Craig Thompson said. “Through our partnership with Stadium, we’re excited to offer our football product on the world’s most widely-used social media platform.”

This is the next step in an ever-changing media landscape, and it isn’t a totally new idea. Last season, the Mountain West was featured in the first-ever live football game on Twitter.

It’s going to be fascinating to see how college football games are viewed say, five years from now.
