According to data analyst Nate Silver’s latest College Football Playoff projections, Alabama, Oregon and Florida State are in while Mississippi State has a 1-percent chance and Mizzou none heading into SEC Championship weekend.

Silver, a noted political prognosticator and editor of FiveThirtyEight, suggests there are seven teams still in contention for four Playoff spots (Alabama, Oregon, Florida State, TCU, Ohio State, Baylor and Mississippi St.).

Mizzou, currently ranked 13th in the latest Coaches Poll, has too much ground to make up to reach the top four. A win over Alabama would be the Tigers’ first over a ranked team this season.
