On his birthday, the nation’s No. 1 cornerback Tony Grimes has trimmed his final teams, and 3 SEC schools made the cut — Georgia, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

The Virginia Beach, Virginia, native also lists Ohio State, Clemson, Penn State, UVA and North Carolina among his top 8 teams. The 6-foot, 180-pound corner is ranked as the nation’s No. 7 overall prospect, including the No. 1 player in the state for 2021, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Grimes has the perfect size, length and ability to become an elite corner in college. He should make an immediate impact with whichever team he signs with, too.

The defensive playmaker has unofficially visited Penn State multiple times over the last few months, as well as Georgia in late January. He told 247Sports that he likes Georgia’s defensive backs coach Charlton Warren. Grimes also said that Tennessee “shot in at the last minute” in his top 8 and that he’s developing a relationship with Texas A&M’s TJ Rushing.
