John Calipari may soon have to find a new strategy to build his Kentucky roster as the NBA is apparently considering the idea of dumping the one-and-done rule in the near future.

According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, the NBA has sent a memo out to league teams stating that the rule could be ending by 2021 or 2022. The current rule is scheduled to remain in place by the 2024 season, when the collective bargaining deal is scheduled to end, but the league is reportedly considering changing it before then.

It’s unclear how much momentum there is for a change to the rule or if the league is issuing this memo as a declaration warning teams to consider the possibility before trading away future draft picks or rights to future draft picks.
