A team from the SEC will win the Midwest Region and advance to the Final Four. Sunday afternoon we’ll find out if that team will be Auburn or Kentucky.

Round 3 of the Tigers vs. Wildcats is set for a 2:20 p.m. ET tipoff, the earlier of the two Sunday Elite Eight games. Duke vs. Michigan State is set for 5:05 p.m. ET.

Kentucky won both regular-season meetings over Auburn (82-80 on Jan. 19 and 80-53 on Feb. 23). Since the Feb. 23 loss, however, Bruce Pearl’s Tigers have been undefeated.

AU finished the regular-season on a four-game winning streak then won four more games to claim the SEC tournament championship and now three games in the Big Dance. Auburn’s 11-game winning streak includes victories against NCAA Tournament teams Mississippi State, Florida, Tennessee (two times), Kansas and North Carolina. The closest call for the Tigers during their current run is the 78-77 Round 1 win over No. 12-seed New Mexico State.

John Calipari’s Wildcats have been challenged against Wofford and Houston in their journey to the Elite Eight. Basketball fans around the country will be tuning in to see how UK fares against the red-hot blueblood killers.
