Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: the NFL has made a change to the upcoming schedule.

In a season filled with postponements and schedule changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NFL has made an adjustment to its Week 7 slate for the upcoming weekend. As of now, no games have been postponed, but a slight modification was made just in case.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Las Vegas Raiders matchup, which was originally set to be the Sunday night game, will now kick off at 4:05 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks-Arizona Cardinals contest has been pushed back to the 8:20 p.m. ET primetime slot on NBC.

The reasoning? On Wednesday, the Raiders placed tackle Trent Brown on the COVID-19/reserve list and sent home the rest of their starting offensive line due to possible exposure. So if their game does end up needing to be postponed, it will be easier to do so now and ensures the NFL will still have a Sunday night game this week.

“These decisions were made out of an abundance of caution to ensure that a game would be available for fans on Sunday Night Football,” the NFL said in a statement (h/t NFL.com’s Kevin Patra). “We expect the Buccaneers-Raiders game to be played on Sunday afternoon. Scheduling decisions are made to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel and in consultation with medical experts.”

The Seahawks-Cardinals matchup is likely to be an exciting one between NFC West rivals. Seattle is 5-0 coming off its bye week, while Arizona is 4-2 after its blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys this past Monday night.

Buccaneers-Raiders should also be a good game, assuming it gets played as scheduled. Tampa Bay improved to 4-2 last week with a lopsided win over the Green Bay Packers, while Las Vegas is 3-2 coming off its bye week.

It’s unlikely this will be the last change made to the NFL schedule in 2020, so make sure to keep an eye out for more potential updates.
