NFL announces biggest game of league's Sunday slate has been postponed
Some disappointing news to share from the NFL as the upcoming matchup between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs has been postponed.
According to the NFL, the game had to be moved due to multiple players on both teams testing positive for COVID.
If you missed the news, Patriots QB Cam Newton and Kansas City QB Jordan Ta’amu, both former SEC QBs, have tested positive for COVID.
The game was originally scheduled for Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
Here is the statement issued by the NFL on Saturday regarding the postponement of the New England-Kansas City game:
“The New England-Kansas City game scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday will be rescheduled to Monday or Tuesday after positive COVID-19 tests on both teams,” the league announced in a statement. “In consultation with infectious disease experts, both clubs are working closely with the NFL and the NFLPA to evaluate multiple close contacts, perform additional testing and monitor developments. All decisions will be made with the health and safety of players, team and gameday personnel as our primary consideration.”
