Report: NFL Players Association vote results in opposition to playing any preseason games in 2020
If NFL players get their way this season, there won’t be any preseason games in 2020.
That’s the latest from NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo who is reporting that the NFL Players Association has voted against playing any preseason games in 2020.
The players voted after the NFL reportedly decided to cut the preseason schedule down from four games to two this season. If you ask the league’s players, the NFL didn’t go far enough.
Following this news, NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero offered up some alternatives for the league moving forward if the preseason isn’t going to be played before the 2020 NFL season begins.
With the NFLPA still opposed to preseason games, one possible camp schedule the union has discussed:
3 days: medical/equipment
21 days: strength & conditioning
10 days: unpadded practice
14 days: practice (10 max/8 padded)Then it’d be straight into Week 1.
