As a starting quarterback in the SEC West, Mississippi State’s Nick Fitzgerald is familiar with playing in hostile environments. A two-year starter, Fitzgerald has experienced the crowds at Bryant-Denny Stadium, Death Valley, Jordan-Hare Stadium and Kyle Field. Fitzgerald, however, says the loudest SEC stadium he has played in belongs to the SEC East, Georgia’s Sanford Stadium.

“The first time going in there to play was a completely different experience,” Fitzgerald told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “It was probably the loudest college football stadium I’ve ever played in.”

It was a special game for Fitzgerald as the Richmond Hill High School alum returned to his home state. Things didn’t go well, however, for Fitzgerald and his Bulldogs on Sept. 23, 2017. UGA thumped MSU 31-3 in the rotational cross-division clash.

In 2018, Fitzgerald will get to add Bill Snyder Family Stadium to the list of college football stadiums he has played in. No offense to the Wildcats, but it probably won’t be as loud as it gets between the hedges.
