Nick Saban, like almost every college football coach, has seen some players leave his program via the transfer portal in recent years.

One of those players (one Saban didn’t want to lose) was WR Aaron Anderson, who left Alabama to return to his home state and play for LSU.

After Alabama pulled off an exciting home win over the Tigers on Saturday night, Anderson came to find his old coach. As you can see below, that led to a great exchange between Saban and Anderson:

“You’d be playing more here than you are there,” Saban said during the conversation with Anderson.

Both Anderson and Saban had smiles on their faces, so it was clearly a pleasant exchange. And Saban has a point. LSU has superstar Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas leading the charge in its receiving corps. Alabama doesn’t have as much depth at that position.

It’s clear Saban still has a lot of respect for his former player.
