There’s a good chance one of the nation’s top 2019 players will end up in the SEC.

On Friday, DT Ishmael Sopsher, a Louisiana native, listed seven SEC schools in his top 12 as he continues to whittle down his school list.

As you can see in the tweet below, Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, Auburn, Mississippi State, Georgia and Tennessee all made it through this round of cuts for the elite defender:

According to the 247Sports composite, Sopsher is the No. 1 defensive tackle in the class of 2019 and the No. 2 overall recruit in the entire country, behind only DE Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Noticeably absent from Sopsher’s list is Alabama, but it is still early in the recruiting process.

It will be interesting to see which schools survive the next round of cuts and if Alabama makes a play for the elite defender.
