Louisville is in the market for a new football coach, and according to odds released Sunday afternoon, some of the top candidates have ties to the Cardinals.

Purdue coach Jeff Brohm appears to be a frontrunner because he grew up in the River City, and is a former UofL player and coach, and was involved in several successful seasons in both roles.

Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chip Long and Ohio State offensive coordinator Ryan Day are also among the contenders.

An interesting name also on the list is South Florida coach Charlie Strong, who was UofL’s coach from 2013-13. This seems difficult to see through because of the Bobby Petrino departure since he was just in his second tenure with the Cardinals.

Brian Brohm, the younger brother of Jeff, is Purdue’s offensive coordinator, and another former Louisville player.
