We should soon know what sort of punishment Ohio State decides to give coach Urban Meyer, stemming from an investigation into domestic violence allegations against former WR coach Zach Smith.

While sources close to the situation have weighed in, saying they expect Meyer to receive a suspension.

On Tuesday, Ohio’s governor, John Kasich, weighed in on the situation. According to the Dayton Daily News, Kasich offered his support to the embattled coach:

“So, I hope this will all be resolved. I hope that he’s going to be in a position where he can — this has been difficult, I’m sure, for he and his family — I hope can get his reputation back because it’s been damaged and it might not be fair,” Kasich said on Tuesday. “And I want him to be back on top again. I don’t root against people.”

The support Meyer has been receiving seems to indicate that the suspension is the way the Buckeyes are leaning, as opposed to dismissal.

Whatever the case, the announcement is expected soon.
