Recently, the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled that the Norman Police Department should release surveillance video of Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon punching a woman in the face during a dispute in an area restaurant in 2014.

On Friday evening, the video was released to media members, and NewsOK.com posted the footage, which can be seen below:

In the graphic footage, Mixon and the victim, Amelia Molitor, can be seen arguing. Molitor shoves Mixon and Mixon responds by punching her in the face.

Upon release of the video, Mixon’s lawyers released another apology from the troubled player:

“Mr. Mixon asked us to once again say he is sorry for the way he reacted that night. He has apologized publicly to Ms. Molitor, her friends, his family, teammates and the University,” his attorney, Blake Johnson, wrote in a letter. “He hopes that his voluntary release of these recordings will help put this matter to rest.”

After the incident became public knowledge in 2014, Mixon was suspended for a full year by the Sooners and also had to serve a year of probation and complete 100 hours of community service.

The Oklahoma Sooners are set to meet the Auburn Tigers in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 2 in New Orleans.
