Oops: Toddler shreds over $1,000 parents were going to use for Utah season tickets
Toddlers and office equipment generally don’t mix, and the Belnap family in Utah found that out the hard way.
After saving up more than $1,000 to pay for Utah football season tickets, the money went missing.
I’m sure you can see where this is going, and yep — the 2-year-old child had run that envelope through the shredder:
So me and my wife had been saving up to pay for our @Utah_Football tickets in cash. We pulled our money out yesterday to pay my mom for the season… Well we couldn’t find the envelope until my wife checked the shredder. Yup. 2 year old shredded $1,060. pic.twitter.com/93R9BWAVDE

Oops.
The parents said they laughed at first, then cried, then laughed some more, per an interview with KSL.
Perhaps there’s something that can be done, though. The government has an office that deals with mutilated cash, so the family may be able to recover some of that hard-earned cash (via Good4Utah.com).
