Paul Finebaum makes prediction for Saturday's Iron Bowl rivalry
The Iron Bowl carries major implications for the Alabama Crimson Tide this year, as they need to win to stay in the hunt for the College Football Playoff.
However, they’ll have to beat their heated rivals, the Auburn Tigers, without star QB Tua Tagovailoa, relying instead on Mac Jones.
On SportsCenter on Saturday morning, SEC Network host Paul Finebaum said he still expects the Tide to win:
“Alabama is going to win the Iron Bowl,” Finebaum said on SportsCenter. “I know that may not be very popular down here in Lee County, but I just think Alabama is a more complete team. Yes, Tua is gone, but Mac Jones has a complement around him that is unmatched anywhere in college football. The defense has been a little bit shaky, but they will get it done right here.”
The key matchup in this game may instead be Auburn QB Bo Nix against Alabama’s defense, as Finebaum mentions.
Can the Tigers score enough points to win? We’ll find out on Saturday afternoon.
