ESPN’s Matt Barrie and Paul Finebaum announced their picks for this season’s College Football Playoff.

On The Matt Barrie Show, Finebaum chose Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State and Alabama. He called them “the 4-most predictable names in the world.”

Barrie, on the other hand, went with USC, LSU, Ohio State and Texas.

“(USC) is loaded and they’re going to figure it out (this season),” Barrie said. “Texas will win the Big 12 in its final year in the conference and LSU is the best team in the SEC West (division). Ohio State, for skill positions from wide receiver to running back, they are loaded.”

Finebaum, surprised by Barrie’s picks, said Barrie’s list will be “food for the masses” when it becomes a conversation piece on Finebaum’s show.

Finebaum noted that despite USC defeating San Jose State in its season opener this past weekend, he can’t get over the Trojans’ overall performance.

“I think the (Trojans) defense will crumble in November when the schedule gets brutal,” Finebaum said.

For LSU, Finebaum believes the Tigers don’t have enough to get past Alabama. As for Texas, Finebaum questioned whether the Longhorns have a strong enough coaching staff.

Barrie, who left defending champion Georgia off his list, said he’s “totally banking on history here” when it comes to programs losing talent to the NFL.

Without quarterback Stetson Bennett and other players going to the pros, Barrie said those losses will “catch up to the Bulldogs.”
