SEC Network host Paul Finebaum has never been shy about calling out incompetence wherever he sees it.

A frequent target of Finebaum’s ire has been NCAA president Mark Emmert, as Finebaum feels Emmert has done nothing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Monday’s episode of “Get Up” on ESPN, Finebaum once again went after Emmert, saying the NCAA president needs to do something other than pass the buck as the most influential person in college sports (via 247Sports):

“It’s easy for Mark Emmert to pass the buck. But he’s the single most influential person — at least image-wise and perceptively — in the system of intercollegiate athletics, and he hasn’t offered one thing,” Finebaum said. “He has been a complete embarrassment. And part of this is his fault. He has not spoken out, he has not said anything but passing the buck.”

The NCAA as an organization has come under plenty of fire the past few years, much of it deserved. Currently, conferences have been left to battle it out among themselves to decide whether or not to play sports this fall.

It’s easy to see why Finebaum thinks Emmert’s leadership has left a lot to be desired during this pandemic landscape currently taking place in the U.S.
