Paul Finebaum is out with his top 4, and he made a chance at the bottom slot.
During his regular Sunday morning appearance on ESPN’s “SportsCenter,” Finebaum ranked the top 4 this way:
- Georgia
- Ohio State
- Michigan
- Washington
Last week, Finebaum had Florida State at No. 4, but the serious injury to Jordan Travis, in part, caused the change.
Finebaum said Washington had an unbelievable win in the rain Saturday night, as the Huskies did everything they needed to do, even though it wasn’t great overall.
“But they got the win at Oregon State and they will stay alive with Oregon down the road,” he said.
For Michigan, the Wolverines “do everything but look great,” Finebaum said. “Even without Jim Harbaugh, they survive Maryland, that’s all they really needed to do. Hard to play a good game when you’re the biggest game in the country the following week.”
With Ohio State, Finebaum said the Buckeyes avoided a trap game on Saturday and everything seemed to be clicking in the win over Minnesota.
Then he pivoted to what he said was once a debate about No. 1, but after Georgia’s latest win, Finebaum said there should be no more dissension between Ohio State and Georgia at No. 1.
“Georgia should be the undisputed champ, I mean they are just mauling teams,” he said. “They went to Rocky Top yesterday and won by 28 and it didn’t even look that impressive, well, it actually did.”
Finebaum said his “file” team is Oregon and Bo Nix, as the Ducks look for another shot at Washington.
