Paul Finebaum was watching Ohio State-Penn State closely, but he didn’t see enough from the Buckeyes to jump LSU at No. 1. Ohio State knocked off Penn State 28-17.

Finebaum still has the LSU Tigers ranked No. 1 in the nation following Week 13. The top three teams are pretty much set with LSU, Ohio State and Clemson; however, No. 4 will be an interesting discussion and debate depending on how the season plays out.

The SEC Network analyst ranked his top four teams following Week 13 Sunday morning on SportsCenter:

1. LSU Tigers
2. Ohio State Buckeyes
3. Clemson Tigers
4. Georgia Bulldogs

Finebaum said he considered ranking Alabama at No. 4, but he couldn’t reward them for beating Western Carolina.

“Alabama just sits there waiting for a move, and frankly, I considered moving Alabama to the fourth position this week. But it’s hard to reward them for beating Western Carolina.”

Alabama did receive a boost Saturday when Arizona State upset No. 6 Oregon 31-28. A one-loss Pac-12 Champion Oregon would have likely jumped Alabama for the No. 4 spot, assuming things played out that way. However, that’s not going to happen now. The Crimson Tide still need help, but Oregon losing showed this year is primed for some chaos.

The fourth College Football Playoff rankings will be out Tuesday night.
