Former Clemson linebacker Ben Boulware is quite the character.
On the field, he’s been known as an emotional and fiery competitor. He got a tattoo of a National Championship trophy on his achilles tendon — after analyst Desmond Howard proclaimed Clemson’s Achilles heel to be the play of its linebackers.
Boulware also isn’t afraid to throw jabs towards in-state rival South Carolina.
On Saturday, Boulware was signing autographs at a store in North Charleston, South Carolina. The store — Fan Zone — urged the linebacker to pen a USC helmet with an interesting message:

Now, there’s a method to the madness. Former USC QB Connor Shaw beat Clemson four-straight times during his collegiate career. On a Clemson helmet, he proceeded to craft this message:
It's a little payback after @cmshaw8 signed a #Clemson helmet last year saying #Gamecocks own the state (Shaw never lost to Tigers) pic.twitter.com/FrA3WhDzeC

Boulware surely got the last laugh. Clemson pasted USC by a score of 56-7 this season, and also won the National Championship.
