With seven matchups involving Southeastern Conference teams on the docket, here’s a list of the player to watch in each SEC game for Week 5:

12:00 p.m., Vanderbilt at Kentucky, SEC NETWORK

Braylon Heard, RB, Kentucky

The junior tailback opened the 2014 season with 116 yards and two touchdowns on just two attempts. However, Heard missed Week 2 with an ankle injury and was limited to 39 yards on 12 carries against Florida. Coming off a Week 4 bye, Heard should regain his stride facing a struggling Vanderbilt defense.

12:00 p.m., Tennessee at No. 12 Georgia, ESPN

Josh Malone, WR, Tennessee

Tennessee’s five-star freshman receiver will see a bigger role in his SEC road debut Saturday. Malone is expected to start for the first time in his young career in the absence of Von Pearson and Josh Smith. The former Station Camp High School standout has the size, speed and intangibles needed to excel at the collegiate level and could see a similar breakout performance against Georgia to his counterpart Marquez North in 2013.

3:30 p.m., Arkansas vs. No. 6 Texas A&M, CBS

Malcome Kennedy, WR, Texas A&M

Malcome Kennedy leads a talented Texas A&M receiving group with 334 yards and 30 receptions. However, Kennedy hasn’t found the end zone since the Aggies’ 73-3 win over Lamar in Week 2. Facing Arkansas in a surprisingly tough matchup, look for Kennedy to break his touchdown drought.

4:00 p.m., Louisiana Tech at No. 5 Auburn, SEC NETWORK

Cameron Artis-Payne, RB, Auburn

Cameron Artis-Payne leads a talented Auburn running game with 352 yards and four touchdowns on 64 attempts. He is averaging 5.5 yards per carry and 117 yards per game. Against Louisiana Tech, the senior running back should add to an already impressive start to 2014.

7:00 p.m., Missouri at No. 13 South Carolina, ESPN

Maty Mauk, QB, Missouri

Missouri looks to bounce back from a disappointing 31-27 loss to Indiana in Week 4. Maty Mauk threw for 331 yards, two touchdowns and an interception on 29-of-48 passing and rushed for 32 yards on 13 attempts. Coming off a shocking upset by Indiana, Mauk and the Tigers look to reclaim their spot as the favorite in the SEC East with a road win over No. 13 South Carolina.

7:30 p.m., New Mexico State at No. 17 LSU, SEC NETWORK

Malachi Dupre, WR, LSU

Despite his team’s disappointing upset to Mississippi State, Malachi Dupre enjoyed a breakout game with 120 yards and two touchdowns on four catches. If healthy, the freshman provides a strong compliment to No. 1 target Travin Dural, who should also be expected to see a big performance against New Mexico State.

7:30 p.m., Memphis at No. 10 Ole Miss, ESPN

Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss

If there was ever a player due for a big performance, its Laquon Treadwell. After recording 105 yards and a touchdown on seven catches in a season opening win, Treadwell has failed to score or post yards above 48 in his past two games. Against Memphis, expect the sophomore wide receiver to reclaim his dominance from Week 1.
