Playoff dingers: SEC alumni Mike Zunino, Hunter Renfroe go yard in big inning for Tampa Bay Rays
The Tampa Bay Rays are looking to finish off the Toronto Blue Jays in the first round of the AL playoffs up 1-0 in a best-of-three series. Two SEC alumni just gave the Rays pitching staff a huge boost in securing the win.
Former Florida catcher Mike Zunino is better known for his defense, but he came through with his bat in the second inning, launching a two-run bomb.

That Zunino home run came after they played the Gator chomp. Coincidence? I think KK doing the actual Gator chomp as he came home is the only answer you need 🐊 #RaysUp pic.twitter.com/RTcWaLKkHA

The Rays’ offense wasn’t done. Former Mississippi State standout Hunter Renfroe added a grand slam, making it 7-0 in the second.
