The top half of the recently revealed post-spring rankings from CBS Sports doesn’t feature much suspense but the back end has some interesting selections.

Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports recently published his top 25 post-spring rankings and, of course, Alabama and Georgia are featured in the top 5, Auburn and Mississippi State in the top 11 but the real eye raisers feature Texas A&M, coming off a 7-6 season, at No. 21 and Florida, coming off a 4-7 season, at No. 22.

Could there really only be 20 teams in the nation better than the Aggies and Gators right now? That’s hard to imagine based on what the new coaches at each program inherited from the previous coaching staffs.

No South Carolina on the list is also interesting considering the Gamecocks went 9-4 last season and return much of the roster in 2018.

Here is every SEC team that made Dodd’s rankings following the conclusion of spring football around the nation:

  • #1 — Alabama (2017 record: 13-1)
  • #3 — Georgia (13-2)
  • #10 — Auburn (10-4)
  • #11 — Mississippi State (9-4)
  • #21 — Texas A&M (7-6)
  • #22 — Florida (4-7)
  • #25 — LSU (9-4)
