Power 5 AD reportedly says the ‘college football season is still alive’

Monday has been a crazy day in the Power 5. It was reported the Big Ten and Pac-12 wanted to cancel the season, but the other conferences were holding out.
As of now, no Power 5 conferences have canceled the season, but the Big Ten could reportedly announce a cancellation as soon as tomorrow.
Per Darren Rovell, we could get a reprieve on cancellation talk for at least 2 days, though. Rovell tweeted that a Power 5 athletic director told him there’s no reason to cancel anything over the next 48 hours:
Power 5 athletic director: “The college football season is still alive. I’m not going to say it’s going to happen, but there’s no reason to pull the plug over the next 48 hours.”

With the SEC and others having delayed the season until Sept. 26, there is indeed still time to wait before any final decisions are made.
The Big Ten seemingly tried to jump the gun on Monday and it appears the conference didn’t get much support. In fact, even coaches and school administrators came out against conference leadership.
We’ll see what happens moving forward, but this is a very fluid situation at the moment.
