Heading into another weekend of SEC action, it’s time to share the latest projections from The Power Rank.

If you haven’t been following this column each week, The Power Rank was developed by analytics expert Ed Feng. Feng’s metrics have accurately predicted the winners of college football games from the 2015 season to the 2017 season 73.7 percent of the time — with an overall record of 1679-598. That number is even more impressive when you factor in that The Power Rank does not pick FBS games against FCS competition.

The Power Rank had another solid weekend of projecting SEC games in Week 8 as the system was 6-1 picking winners in college football’s best conference.

Here is how The Power Rank predicts the Week 9 action to play out in the SEC:

  • LSU is projected to beat Auburn by 10.7 points in Baton Rouge. Auburn has a 22 percent chance of winning in Tiger Stadium.
  • Texas A&M is projected to beat Mississippi State by 9.5 points in College Station. The Bulldogs have a 24 percent chance of winning in Kyle Field.
  • South Carolina is projected to beat Tennessee by 2.9 points in Knoxville. The Volunteers have a 41 percent chance of winning in Neyland Stadium.
  • Missouri is projected to beat Kentucky by 4.7 points in Lexington. The Wildcats have a 36 percent chance of winning in Kroger Stadium.
  • Alabama is projected to beat Arkansas by 36 points in Tuscaloosa. The Razorbacks have a one percent chance of winning in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
