The Power Rank predicts the outcome of every Week 8 SEC game
The Power Rank is back with another round of SEC projections heading into a packed weekend of SEC action.
If you are unfamiliar with the Power Rank, it’s the creation of Stanford Ph.D. graduate and analytics expert Ed Feng. Feng uses his system to predict outcomes in professional and college sports.
The Power Rank does not project games against FCS opponents, yet it accurately predicts winners over 73 percent of the time.
The system went 2-2 predicting SEC games during Week 7.
Here is how The Power Rank predicts the Week 8 action to play out in the SEC:
- Ole Miss will beat South Carolina at home by 1.9 points. The Gamecocks have a 44 percent chance of winning this game.
- Florida will beat Arkansas at home by 21.2 points. The Razorbacks have a 7 percent chance of winning this game.
- Kentucky will beat Vanderbilt at home by 18.6 points. The Commodores have a 10 percent chance of winning this game.
We lost four games this weekend but if you are curious, the Power Rank had Alabama beat LSU by 7.1, Georgia beating Missouri by 11.2, Texas A&M beating Tennessee by 7.9 and Auburn beating Mississippi State by 14.1.
