We’re officially deep into college football’s final stretch. Everybody who isn’t South Carolina has just a pair of additional games remaining. But it’s not too late to look ahead, so once again, here’s how we see it playing out in the regular season for each SEC squad.

SEC West

Alabama: 12-0

What’s that? They added the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots for the final two games on the schedule? That might be the only thing to get us to change our minds on Alabama going undefeated.

Arkansas: 2-10

It was a solid effort this week for Arkansas against LSU, but it’s hard to imagine this team beating Mississippi State or Missouri in the final two weeks.

Auburn: 7-5

It’s pretty simple, really, with what’s left on the schedule. There is a surefire win over Liberty, and a no-doubter loss to Alabama. Yawn.

LSU: 10-2

The Tigers will have their hands full at College Station in the season finale against Texas A&M, but we’re giving them the edge on the Aggies.

Mississippi: 6-6

Ole Miss’ game at Vanderbilt this week likely will end up deciding whether either team can end up at .500. We’re giving the Rebels an edge, but it might be 51-50.

Mississippi State: 8-4

Mississippi State didn’t embarrass themselves against Alabama Saturday, and the Bulldogs should be fine the final two weeks, with a game at home against Arkansas and in Oxford against Ole Miss to end the season.

Texas A&M: 7-5

They’ll beat UAB and they do have a puncher’s shot for certain in the season finale against LSU, but that feels like a game that Jimbo Fisher’s guys are still a year away from winning.

SEC East

Florida: 9-3

Idaho and Florida State should both be easy wins for Florida, but at  the same time, the Gators did lose at home to Kentucky and Missouri Still, 9-3 seems right.

Georgia: 11-1

Georgia just throttled Kentucky and Auburn, so why would UMass or Georgia Tech present any kind of actual threat to the SEC East champions?

Kentucky: 9-3

I’m not going to lie. Kentucky is suddenly a train wreck, so I strongly considered saying 8-4, or even 7-5, with two games remaining against Middle Tennessee and Louisville. Put Benny Snell in the Wing-T if they have to, but the Wildcats have to find a way to score points.

Missouri: 8-4

The Tigers’ game with Tennessee looks a lot more interesting than it did a couple weeks ago, but we’re still picking the Tigers. They shouldn’t have any trouble with Arkansas in the season finale.

South Carolina: 7-5

Chattanooga and Akron get the Gamecocks to seven wins in what has to be considered a disappointing season, and the loss to Clemson is a given.

Tennessee: 6-6

Given upset wins at Auburn and now over Kentucky, we’ll project the Vols for bowl eligibility with a last-game win at Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt: 4-8

The Commodores are certainly capable of winning out, but this team seems to only get bad breaks, and we’re guessing they get a few more before the season ends.
