After a week of pivotal showdowns, the SEC shifts down a few gears leading up to Rivalry Week. While nearly half the conference is taking on an overmatched opponent, there are still three divisional showdowns, with plenty at stake.

What will everyone be talking about after the games are said and done?

Josh Dobbs and Tennessee end Missouri’s SEC East chances. The Volunteers have seen a major resurgence since Dobbs took over at quarterback, helping the Vols live up to the high hopes Butch Jones laid out for the young team. A win over a defenseless South Carolina team is nice, but Jones and Dobbs will notch their first major win by knocking off Missouri, handing Georgia the SEC East crown in the process.

Nick Chubb reminds UGA fans they’re in good hands. Losing Todd Gurley stinks, but luckily the Bulldogs can turn to a player having one of the loudest debut seasons in recent memory to carry the load. Depending on how much work the coaching staff allows him to get in their tuneup against Charleston Southern, Chubb should easily top 100 yards for the sixth straight game and has the potential to go way higher.

Florida comes out fired up. We’ve seen this before with the Gators back when Ron Zook was fired and finished out the season. Will Muschamp is, by all accounts, very well-liked by everyone at Florida. Players have spoken up in support of their coach, and they’ll want to send him out with a couple of wins.

Arkansas continues its winning ways against Ole Miss. The Razorbacks finally got an SEC win last week after nearly two full years without one. Now that they have the taste of victory, they’ll be ready to knock off the Rebels. The Hogs have the pass rush and power running game to frustrate both sides of the ball for Ole Miss, and now that Bret Bielema’s team has an SEC win under their belts they’ll have the poise to pull out a second consecutive win.
